LinkSwitch® designs from Kaschke
The following table covers the three family types from Power Integrations.
1. LNK TN 302/4/5/6 using buck topology in both through hole and SMD fixed Inductors. Our SMD range will now be offered with the GR10 platform. This part has a 10mm pitch so we remove any issue of Corona effect. Other values are available. The parts presented from Kaschke are all standards in working designs and whilst the PI selector shows a larger range of values, in practice the standards we offer fit the vast majority of designs. However, if you do require a specific value of Inductance and Current rating we can offer a solution, please email your needs to rotima@rotima.ch
2. LNK 500/501 designs on the very first Linkswitch family were aimed at linear replacement regulators and PI has been very successful in the charger market. The Kaschke designs are aimed at European/Industrial applications that meet the necessary EN regulations for power supply isolation. So whilst we follow some of the techniques recommended by PI, our designs are generally used with a safety ‘Y@ capacitor.
3. LNK 520 is an interesting part requiring a bias winding to improve on the regulation and slightly better than using the TinySwitch up to 4 watts. Customers are delighted with the performance of the design, once again hitting our ‘right first time' approach
